Biography
As a Sophomore (2018) – Scored for FPU at the PacWest Championship meet (4/27-28), clearing a season-best 1.45m in the high jump….marked a season-best 9.25m in the triple jump at the Rossi Relays (2/24).
Prior to FPU - Spent four seasons on the track & field team at Reedley High School under head coach Dion Tate...team captain and was named the Most Valuable Player in 2016...individual NYL champion in the high jump in 2013 & '15 and individual NYL champion in the triple jump in '15 & '16...team title in the NYL all four seasons...had persona bests of 5'1" in the high jump and 32'9" in the triple jump...also played three years of varsity volleyball, being named captain, MVP and a first-team NYL selection...also participated in student government and choir.
Personal - Daughter of Myles and Jacquie Bacon...has three siblings named Max, Will and Kyle...her dad played football, while her mom was on the track team at Benedictine College...greatest sports thrill in her career has been winning the league championship her senior season in high school...chose FPU for the close-knit community within the campus and the track & field team...enjoys watching Grey's Anatomy...favorite book is The Giver...enjoys listening to LANY....favorite athlete is Devonte Graham...hobbies include indoor rock climbing...Samantha is a political science major.
