Biography
As a Junior (2016-17) - CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention….at the NCAA Championships, competed well in the 1000 freestyle, where she touched at 10:21.04 (eighth-place), good for the fourth best mark in program history....in dual meet competition against Cal State East Bay she contributed to the FPU victory with a win in the 1000 freestyle (10:46.69).
As a Sophomore (2015-16) - Cracked FPU's all-time top five in the 1650 Freestyle with a time of 17:44.64, good for eighth place at the PCSC Championships....performed well at the PCSC Relays, winning the 3x100 yard backstroke relay with a time of 3:07.13.
As a Freshman (2014-15) - Competed well at the PCSC Championships, placing eighth in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:44.27....also swam to a sixth place finish in the 800 freestyle relay with a season-best time of 7:43.66 (2/18).
Prior to FPU - Kaylee is a graduate of South Medford High School...swam four seasons for head coach Robyn Schiffer...named Team Captain, Most Valuable Player and earned the Coaches' Award...earned the Rotary Scholarship and had a 3.5 or higher GPA all four years...district champion in the 500 free...team made it to the State Championships all four seasons....member of the interact club, the torch honors club and leadership team.
Personal - Daughter of Garrett and Karen Cooper...has two siblings, Jenna and Karissa...person she most admires his her father....chose FPU for the small friendly environment and the opportunity to compete on the swim team...favorite food is fruit snacks....favorite TV show is Greys Anatomy...enjoys listening to the Weeknd...person she would most like to meet is Drake....favorite athlete is Katie Ledecky...hobbies include hiking, rafting, camping and drawing...Kaylee is a liberal studies major with an emphasis in math who hopes to be an elementary teacher for children who are hard of hearing or deaf.
