Personal - Jay was born and raised in Rancho Mirage, CA...He is the son of Joseph and Laraine Friend...He has two sisters, Lauren and Jillian...His favorite athletes are Brendan Hansen and Tom Dolan...His hobbies include playing the guitar, sleeping and hiking...His home church is St. John's Lutheran Church in Palm Desert, CA...Jay is a Communications major...His career goal is to work in advertising.
Prior to FPU - Jay is a graduate of Cathedral City High School.
As a freshman (2008) - Jay was a part of the 2008 men's team that took Runner-Up at the NAIA Swimming and Diving Championship.
As a sophomore: Jay was a part of the 2010 NAIA national championship men’s team…At Nationals, he totaled 12 points in individual events, finishing 13th in the 400 Individual Medley, 100 breastroke, and 200 breastroke.
