Personal - Edison was born in San Jose, CA and raised in Fresno...He is the son of Jose and Gloria Gonzalez...He has three older sisters and a younger brother...His favorite foods are lasagna, chipotle, Mexican and Italian...His favorite books are "Wild At Heart" and "Night"...He enjoys golfing, wake-boarding, gaming, car racing, working out and reading...He speaks Spanish, French and some Portuguese...His home church is The Well Community Church...His cousins, Adrian Gonzalez and Valentin Gonzalez, have also attended FPU...Edison is a Kinesiology major with a minor in Coaching...He plans to play professional soccer and own a business someday.
Prior to FPU - Edison is a graduate of Bullard High School…He earned All-League honors in his junior and senior seasons…He helped lead his team to two League Championships and a Valley Championship...He also played football as a Knight...Edison played club soccer with the Roosevelt Revolution and Cal Odyssey...His team was State Champion and Coca Cola National Champion...They made three national tournament appearances.
As a Freshman (2006) - Edison appeared in 15 of the Sunbirds' 18 matches, including 6 starts…From the defender position, he put up 4 shots, 2 on goal.
