As a Junior (2011) - Started all 52 games as the Sunbirds' third baseman....batted .271 with 26 runs, 16 doubles, 25 RBI, 7 stolen bases and a .407 on-base percentage (2nd on team)....posted a .972 fielding percentage and was a gold-glove candidate....led the team in sacrifices with 17....went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI in win vs. Westmont (2/26)....belted a double off the wall against Fresno Grizzlies' reliever Andrew Kown in exhibition at Chukchansi Park (4/5)....went 2-for-3 with season-high 4 RBI in win vs. Vanguard (4/9)....went 4-for-5 with 3 runs scored in team's comeback win vs. #9 Biola (4/13)....went 3-for-5 with 2 clutch RBI in NAIA Opening Round vs. Belhaven (5/14).

Prior to FPU- Played two years at College of the Sequoias in Visalia for coach Jody Allen....First Team All-Conference in 2008 & 2009...Received the Golden Glove Award in 2008 & 2009...Giant of the Year 2009...Had a .330 batting average as a sophomore...Played three years on varsity for coach Dave Holt at Mt. Whitney High School, where he had a .430 batting average.

Personal- Born June 17, 1989...Parents are Neal and Colleen Laird...Has two brothers, Shaun & Joshua, and a sister, Amber...Brother, Shaun, played football at Jamestown College...Greatest sports thrill was winning the Valley Championship in high school...Chose FPU for its prestigious baseball program...Favorite food is steak and potatoes...Favorite book is the Bible...Favorite band is Linkin Park...Favorite sports team is the Atlanta Braves...Favorite athlete is Ozzie Smith...Attends Neighborhood Church...Person he would most like to meet is former Braves manager Bobby Cox...Hobbies include fishing and camping...played football in high school...wants to teach and coach at the college level...Scott is a Psychology major.
