As a Junior (2014) - Started 54 games at first base for the national champion Sunbirds....named NCAA Division II NCBWA All-West Region, ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-West Region, All-PacWest, NCCAA West Region Player of the Year and 1st team All-American....batted .378 with a team-high 22 doubles, 51 RBI and .575 slugging percentage....finished second on the team in home runs (4) and on-base percentage (.432), also stole eight bases....went the first 60 plate appearances of the season without striking out....finished the season on a 13-game hitting streak, collecting hits in each of FPU's eight postseason wins....had 24 multi-hit games on the season.

Prior to FPU - Spent two seasons at Fresno City College under coach Ron Scott....earned first team all-conference honors in 2011....prepped at Hanford High School under coach Tim Scott....played two years of varsity baseball....earned first team all-league honors.

Personal - Born September 3....parents are Luis Banuelos and Sylvia Martinez.....has one sister, Clarissa....his father played baseball at Hartnell College....the people he admires most are his parents....chose FPU for its great baseball program....favorite food is Japanese....favorite band is Iration....favorite athlete is Johnny Manziel....attends St. Brigid's Church....person he'd most like to meet is Lebron James....Joshua is a sociology major with plans of going into law enforcement.
