FRESNO, Calif. — Fresno Pacific men's soccer forward
Noah Naranjo was named the FloCollege/CCAA Player of the Week following his performance in the 'Birds' 8-0 shutout victory over NAIA opponent, Pacific Union College.
After a scoreless opening half, the Blue and Orange exploded offensively after halftime, scoring all eight of its goals to win the match. The Clovis-native helped lead the offensive surge, scoring twice early in the half before completing his first collegiate hat trick in the 84th minute. Naranjo wasn't finished there. Just four minutes later, he helped set up
Bryan Lopez's goal in the 88th minute, putting the finishing touches on the dominant 8-0 victory.
Naranjo's hat trick was the first by a Fresno Pacific men's soccer player since November 2016. He finished the match with three goals and an assist, helping fuel an eight-goal second half for the 'Birds along with four other Sunbirds.
Preston Larger scored a brace, while Lopez, Vaughn, and
Cole Keeslar each had one under their belt.
In the CCAA conference, the freshman forward is ranked fourth in goals and sixth in points. He is the second male Sunbird to garner this conference honor, joining fellow men's soccer forward
Zion Vaughn.
