FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific women's water polo team continued to excel in the classroom as 13 Sunbirds were named to the 2026 Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) All-Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday.
The WWPA recognized 132 student-athletes from across the conference for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year. To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, be enrolled as a full-time student, and complete at least one semester or two quarters at their institution.
Representing Fresno Pacific on the WWPA All-Academic Team were freshmen Davin Collazo (Psychology), Sofia DeRollo (Criminology), and Kennedy Green (Kinesiology). An impressive sophomore class featuring Rhyan Atkin (Liberal Studies), Frances Benson (Criminology), starting goalkeeper Evalena Filippi (Pre-Health Sciences), Autumn Johnson (Studio Art), and All-WWPA Honorable Mention selection Dakota Lambert (Criminology).
Junior honorees included All-WWPA Defensive team selection Maggie Cook (Liberal Studies), Sierra Coyne (Business Administration), and Mackenzie Sepeda (Political Science/Philosophy). Rounding out the list were senior leaders Emma Cook (Nursing), a First Team ACWPC All-American and First Team All-WWPA selection, and Summer Fulton (Pre-Med Health Sciences).
The recognition highlights Fresno Pacific's commitment to excellence both in competition and in the classroom, as the Sunbirds continue to uphold the department's tradition of academic success.
